The Proposal

Matt Proposed to me on July 18, 2008.

He was really sneaky about how he did this too because about a week before he had told me that he wouldn't be able to talk to me that day much because he would be at the airport going through certification. I was bummed that I wouldn't be able to talk to him but totally fell for it.

About 11 o'clock that morning, (the florist was told to deliver them at noon) red and white daisies were delivered to my work with a note that said Matt had talked to my boss and that I was excused from work at 1. I was to meet him at the Vineyard park-the place where we had gone on our second date, for lunch. I immediately sent Matt a thank you text and he kind of brushed me off so I wouldn't keep bugging him. It was utter torture to have to wait for Lunch to roll around.

I drove out to Vineyard park and saw my honey waiting for me. He told me to grab the flowers from my car and to hop in with him. We drove out to an empty lot in a developing subdivision that overlooks Utah lake where he had set up a table for lunch. We used my flowers as a centerpiece We had something that Matt had worked all day to prepare (salads from Cafe Rio that he drove down the street to get. I didn't mind- its my favorite).

I knew he was going to propose so eating lunch and trying to act casual was so hard! We had Cracker Jacks for dessert and I figured my ring would be in the prize packet. But as soon as I saw the prize packet it looked so legitimate (Matt's mom told me later that he had spent three hours making it look real. He had even taken a screw and scratched the edges so it looked like it had been mechanically sealed )that my heart dropped and I figured I'd have to keep waiting for the proposal. As I pulled the prize out though...It felt a lot like the ring. I opened it up and out popped the my gorgeous ring! It was amazing! Matt asked if I would marry him and I immediately replied with "YES!" I shoved the ring back at him and made him put it on my finger.

I surprisingly didn't cry...just teared up. Hopefully I will be so lucky on my wedding day.

The ring in the picture isn't the exact ring. Mine has three stones on each side. This one is very similar and I have a good picture of it. Oh! and I should mention that Matt picked the ring out all by himself, which makes it even more beautiful. Its better than I could have imagined.
